ArduCopter Range

I was wondering what an average range is for the Arducopter, I realize there are many factors that play into this, I am looking for real world data, I would be flying with minimal gear and a battery for maximum range.

    There are many variables to range. Type of copter; quad, hex, octo; weight, motors, props, weather, time, and are we flying one way or round trip. If range or duration of flight is important then a plane might be better solution.
