Arducopter unstable during takeoff

Hi all,

I have just assembled an arducopter 2.0. with an X configuration. It flips off in one direction during takeoff.

I am using a 4 cell lipo and all the props are working fine and ESC's are callibrated. I have run all the suggestions in the troubleshooting guide,All the hardware is perfect. I have uploaded the firmware using the mission planner and the GPS lock is established.I have set my 3 way toggle switch in my RC Tx to simple, stabilize and auto modes respectively.I have a few queries and i would be pleased if anyone can suggest me on whats probably wrong and what can be done to make it right. The link to the video is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAYlnZonhCE.

1.The attitude of the APM is not being indicated in the mission planner when the USB is connected even in the FLY mode.

2. Iam not very clear on how to use the XBee telemetry module on the ground, and that may be the reason to my above problem, so i would appreciate anyone throwing some light on it.

3. Iam not sure of the frame callibration process also, I have already configured the frame to X in the mission planner by running the setup if thats what t means.

If there is anything i have missed out on the motor calibration or any other issue, i would be pleased if anyone could share their views.I have posted the Link to the video i have recorded during testing if anyone wants to look at.

  • also, make sure you have channel mixing desabled on the Tx, all channels must work independent !

  • Hi all,

i wanted to share the following information.

1.The arducopter is setup in + configuration.
    2. We are using T9CHP Tx in standard Mode 2 Configuration with throttle stick on the left along with rudder and right stick controls elevator and aileron.
    3. When we configure the radio in the setup mode using the APM mission Planner, the following are the parameters.

    RADIO SETUP VALUES

    CH1: 1497/1497
    CH2:1497/1497
    CH3:1121/1946
    CH4:1102/1927
    CH5:1116/1932
    CH6:1102/1930
    CH7:966/2072

We notice that the joysticks on the Tx are getting mapped in a strange fashion, i.e:
1.Throttle stick in the radio moves Channel 5 in the Configuration Radio inputs display.
    2. rudder stick moves the Channel 6.
    3. Elevator Channel moves Rudder(4) in the display.
    4. Aileron stick moves the throttle(3) in the display.
    5. 3 way toggle switch on the Tx moves the Channel 7 in the display.

Kindly let me know how to solve this issue at the earliest possible, once this is solved we can test fly.

When you say the "attitude is not indicated" do you mean the artificial horizon is not moving at all, or is not correct?

    Hello Vijayaditya,

How have you fitted the APM?  Are the boards pointing in the correct direction? (Have you a photo)

    Regards
