Ardupilot Mega and 3.3v

Hi,

 

I purchased the Ardupilot Mega and a bunch of components for a UAV project on my Easystar.  The problem I am running into is that the components require 3.3v.  I don't see any source coming from the Ardupilot Mega that can provide the 3.3v yet I keep reading hints that there is some solder jumper that will make the unit provide 3.3v instead of 5v.  I do not know if that is true however.

 

In the mean time I am kind of stuck because I really need a stable regulated 3.3v for my 6DOF, Magnatometer and GPS,

 

I realise that I could just place a resister on the 5v out to provide around 3.3v but not sure how clean that would be.

 

What are you guys doing to provide a clean 3.3v to your components?

 

Also, would it be possible that I could get a Beta copy of the mega's manual?

    Here is a nice, efficient, complete 3-pin 3.3V switching regulator for $15:

    I have used their adjustable regulators on UAVs with good success.

    The ArduMeg schematic only shows a +5 vdc regulator. I know that there is a 3.3 vdc regulator on the ArduMega Shield. If you require 3.3 vdc for your sensors, you are going to have to add your own 3.3 vdc regulator I suspect.
