ArduPilot Mega ESC Compatibiliity

What are the requirements for ESC/Motor to the ArduPilot Mega? Can I use any RC plane ESC from hobby stores or do I have to buy the one sold by DIY DRones?

Do you mean for multicopters or planes? In either case, you can use any ESC. But with a multicopter, make sure that all the ESCs are the same type.
