Arduplane 2.7 RTL circle issue

Hi guys,

I have a small problem with the RTL. It works great when I trigger RTL.

But when I hit failsafe it first does the 20 second circle and then triggers RTL, this also works

My problem is I want it to go to RTL straight when a failsafe event is triggered, because If I am low and it first circles for 20 seconds it might hit a tree. I have my RTL set to come back on 80m. So it will inmediatly start to climb to 80m and come back.

Is there a way to disable the 20 second circle?

I know the new firmware holds altitude on circle, but I need to climb then.

I see the 1 sec failsafe option but that does not change the circle behaviour.

Thanks

  • Try uncheck "hold default alt "  in MP  , it will come back immediately holding the current altitude!

  • There is no easy way to disable the short failsafe action, since it is hard coded in the arduplane software.
I've had similar issues and concerns like yours.

I modified the arduplane code to enter long failsafe half a second after short failsafe.

It is a crude solution, i'd rather disable the first failsafe all together but I have not tested that out yet.

Now my plane goes into long failsafe 1.5 seconds after loss of signal, which is safe enough for me.
