Arming Problems

Hi,

My problem is that i can not arm my copter when everything is connected with the apm board.

It seems that the actions from the radio controller are not recognized from the board. (or some arm checks fails - but i'm actually not able to figure out wich checks)

I have build a quad copter with the following configurations.

3691347599?profile=original

I'm using the latest MS planner version to monitore and configure the apm 2.8.

Steps i have done since i finished the copter:

* set the frame type to 'X'

* Accel calibration

* Compass calibration

* Radio calibration

** Throttle: 1187-1837

** Yaw: 1130 - 1893

** Pitch: 1181 - 1837

** Roll: 1146 - 1905

* Calibration of each ESC (single calibration) when they are connected directly to the reciever the motors are spinning

* Flight mode is stabalize

* set the home town via flight plan

To arm the copter i have tried to hold the ch for throttle and the yaw ch to the minimum (also tried yaw to the maximum), but nothing happens.

MS Planner shows the values of the ch but no reaction to arm.

Leds of my board:

* constant green

* orange blinking

* constant blue

* red blinking

I'm new at this topic so i'm not sure if i have missed something.

Can somebody give me a hint what could be wrong?

Or how i can monitor the arming checks.

Best regards

Johnny

  • which I wonder, why if using a USB cable want arm, but if USB is released do not want arm?
  • Ok thank you for all the hints, i solved the problem by running all configuration steps again.

    I found two problems: the esc are not calibrated in the same way one of them was wrong.

    second - the controler calibration was not working, don't know but after running it again the copert starts as expected.

    what i also did was updating the mission planner. i did not get the latest version of it at the first time.

    If you connect to Mission Planner it will give you any messages as to why it won't arm. To arm is THR low and rudder right for 4 secs. Or you can arm with a button in Mission Planner. If it still won't arm post a log file (*.bin) from the copter here.

  • Hi Jonny.

    I had a similar issue a while back. What Receiver are you using? My issue was down to using a Immersion system on 433MHz.Does MP reconise  the signal from the Rx at all? Disable all the board checks and work through them. isolate which one is the issue (if any).

  • Hi Jonny,

    Watching your post with interest as I have exactly the same problem.

    I did have a few issues getting the APM to connect with planner 2.0...with a mac..I eventually managed this and was able to install firmware...but thats about it.

    I would be interested to know how you calibrated all your parameters? I can't seem to find a function to do this?

    go easy on me...First one....:-)
