I'm trying to get my quad tuned up correctly, and it seems to have slight glitches of instability in pitch and roll while flying.

I notice that when it is connected to mission planner, and stationary on the ground, the artificial horizon will move around a little (and also my camera gimbal as a result). It looks like pitch and roll move between about +2 and -2 when I bring up the tuning window. While flying this seems to manifest in small deviations from level.

I'm running an APM2.5 and it's powered by the 3DR power unit. I'm running 2.9.1 and have done the level procedure etc. Has anyone else come across this?

One other thing I have noticed is that the North bearing indicated by the APM is about +90 degrees off where I know north actually is. I just used auto declination but I'll try setting it manually.

  • Check if the problem stops when you arm it.  This is a very well understood issue, and it's not a big deal at all, just cosmetic.  I have wanted to make it go away but it's not my bit of code.

    @Glenn M,

    Have you tried using the "level" command in the Terminal Mode CLI setup?
