Have a quad built around a sk450 frame, did an auto tune and it flies very nice and alt hold works perfectly. The gps gets a good lock but when I put it in to loiter it stay put for a second then starts slowly but surely drifting out in a spiral around the original loiter position, the circle keep getting bigger an bigger and the quad gets more more out of control. The behavior seems constant every time I try loiter thought someone might have seen it before.

That is clearly a ''toiletbowling''. This is because you are having problems with magnetic interference. Have you done all the compass setups? Do you have an external compass? Check this:

Sounds like your compass declination is off or you're getting interference to it. What controller are you using, and where is the compass located (ie, is it external or internal)?. Have you run compassmot?
