Auto Issues with Latest Released SW

Hey guys,

I'm using the latest SW with my APM 2.5 (think it's 3.01) and I had a really strange auto flight over the weekend.

I've attached the log files, all the fun starts happening at 50%. I've been logging all of the parameters I can think of but nothing is making sense. Before 50%, around WP 1, the copter did a really big circle before getting to the waypoint. It seemed to recover and proceeded well to WP 2.

From WP2 it turned nicely onto WP3 and started heading towards it. If you watch the logs from 50%, at around 50.7, the GPS Track starts to deviate massively (by almost 90 degrees). I've checked the GPS data items but I can't see anything strange. The copter then went almost full throttle away from the waypoint. You can see where it's turning hard into the waypoint but seemingly not making anyprogress.

I ended up taking over and trying a RTL which then went even further out. I then took over in stab to recover.

Once stable I engaged Auto again and it went a little crazy. I engaged RTL at about 52.5% and it started getting further away. I eventually enabled STAB and had to try and bring it back. I almost lost it as it was getting far out and very difficult to see where it was heading.

Suffice to say after that I brought it back in to try and regain some composure. I then tried auto again and at 88% you can see the huge circle it's doing around the waypoint. It eventually gets WP1 and WP2 and starts heading towards 3. About 75% of the way towards 3 it again deviates off course (around 90.5%). I eventually have to take over again. I engaged stab again as it was heading straight for the ground and I managed (somehow) to just save it about an inch off the ground (I thought for sure it was going in). The logs show that it still has altitude which is weird.

Around 94% I engage an RTL and it takes off again in the wrong direction. At this point I give up, recover and fly back to land.

It's an APM2.5 from 3DR with the 3DR GPS (not including the compass). It's mounted on a DJI450 airframe. I have another DJ450 with a APM2.6 and it works very well. I'm using similar tuning parameters.

Can someone have a look at the logs and see if they can see anything untoward? Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Sounds like you're compass is way off. Have you run the compassmot test?
