autopilot

Hi all,
i've set out on a task of building my own autopilot system. including the ground station and air-borne components. unfortunately i have no clue how to go about it. can anyone help?
my aim is to have a conceptual design by the end of this month.

Ajay

  • I'd recommend laying out a diagram of the system as a flow chart, showing all its components with lines between them showing what sends data to what. It lets you see how much all of the hardware will have to handle - this is most important for the central processor, obviously, and whether or not it has the processing power required to handle all the data being thrown at it. The diagram also comes in handy when you come to put it all together, making sure you get it right, and reminding you to make allowances for things you plan to add in the future.

Once you have that, have a look around on this site for suitable hardware, work out which ones you want and start placing orders!
