What about basic remote trigger with range .5-1km, separate from UAV receiver, 1-3 commands, no feedback. So basically transmitter and receiver, on 433/868/2.4Ghz or other allowed in EU frequency. Some simple enough channel coding I guess is a must.

First things comes to my mind is some RF Solutions modules or similar, but I guess there can be some

open designs which can do the same work. Some of the post in the blog are related, but I guess there is a new solutions that I am not aware, too.

p.s. GSM, Xbee and WiFi solutions are possible, but may be too complicated and expensive
