Best Combination of Motors, prop and batteries for the X-UAV Talon for the Longer flight Distance

HI,

I am new member in the X-UAV Talon club, I have just received my Talon with the extension wing.

I'm working to put the right combination of motors, prop and batteries:

I am looking to have the maximum flight duration over 90 minutes.

The weight of my FPV gear with all antennas, cables, cameras is around 750g.

The weight of the talon + motors + ESC + servo is around 1400g, So the total weight without the batteries is around 2150g

Regarding the battery, I can use multiple options based on motors and prop:

Multistar Battery Weights:

3S 5200 mAh is 325g.
4S 5200 mAh is 433g.

Option1: 3S configuration 2 parallel batteries => 3S 10,400 mAh: 650g. Total flight weight 2,800g

Option 2: 6S configuration, 2 series batteries => 6S 5,200 mAh: 650g, Total flight weight 2,800g

Option 3: 4S configuration, 2 parallel battery => 4S 10,400 mAh: 866g.Total Flight weight: 3,016 g

Option 4: 3S configuration 4 parallel batteries => 3S 20,800 mAh: 1300g. Total flight weight 3,450g

Option 5: 6S configuration 2 parallel + 2 series => 6S 10,400 mAh: 1300g.Total flight weight 3,450g.

What motors and prop should we use with every option, and what flight duration will we get?

  A 40 A ESC "should" be fine, you won't be drawing that much current.
  
  Don't use wooden props, the tips will hit grass/twigs, etc on landing, and break.

    I have been developing multicopters so no deep knowledge for planes.
    
    I got the idea against wooden props.
    
    Actually, I think the same danger (hitting the grass/twigs) exists for APC props.
    
    I have never used wooden but will try.
    
    @Eliot,the negativity is price.
    
    ZTW 40A opto 600hz esc $14 while 90A opto YEP esc $111.
    
    Anyway any esc opinion for sunnysky 3508 580kv?

      Baris, my current measurements are somewhere on this blog....
      
      APC props get marks on the from hitting grass, etc, but they don't break easily.
      
      Electric wooden props are very flimsy.......
      
      For landing I cut all power, and let the motor windmill, it sort of acts as an airbrake.
      
      Also, if it is spinning on landing, it won't hook up easily.
      
      My feeling is that a stationary prop can hook up solidly with vegetation, and rip the motor out, or break. I've seen that happenon someone else's aircraft...

    I am using 3S and I see 37A + when I am at maximum speed. that's why I prefer 75A and already I had the 100A so I am ok with it.
    
    I don't know if there is some negativity in it. is there?

I've tied the config on 17" with e-calcs and i got this with RcTimer X6 motors (X6 Motors):

If i try on 13" i loose flight time

X6/400KV & HV40A 4 pack combo

  Hello everyone, I have the full size XUAV talon, I have a turnigy 70amp dlux ESC and a 3548 1050kv turnigy aero drive SK3 motor. My talon has had the 1080 kv type motor on it before but due to teething problems I crashed it and have since done some repairs to the air frame using anew nose and some fibreglass. It is balanced but the weight has increased by around 800g, using 6000mah 4s lipo what type of prop is recommended to succeed in hand launching?

      @Joffrey, I don't know who the manufacturer of your quad is, but the Talon fixed wing (as pictured above by Trung Nguyen) has been well-known with-in the community for a couple years now.
      
      Sorry the quad company didn't pick a new name for their craft.
