I'm trying to create two different bluetooth links to cut down on some wires. Currently, TELEM1 on the pixhawk goes to the 3DR radio and TELEM2 goes to the OSD.
The first and most obvious is bluetooth module on the drone, connected to the PIxhawk TELEM2. This would be in parallel with the MinimOSD, but the OSD would only have a rx wire connected obviously. This would let me connect to the drone directly via bluetooth from my laptop or phone without using the telemetry radios.
The second is a ground based bridge. I'd like to connect the 3DR 900mhz telemetry radio to a bluetooth module. I'd use the 6 pin connector on the 3DR radio, along with a 5v BEC and battery to power it all. This makes it so I don't need the 3DR radio connected to my laptop or phone via USB. I can just leave it sitting on a picnic table while I walk around freely. I will be putting them in a little project box with a small 2C lipo to power it.
The Bluetooth modules (two obviously) I'd like to use is the Sparkfun Bluetooth Mate Gold (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12580) based on the RN41. Is there any reason why this will not work? I presume it I will need to configure them for 57600. Nothing more is needed than VCC, Ground, Tx, & RX, right?
