As I'm a newbie to the field of drones, I have started a project to build my own autonomous quad-copter, which will be controlled by the commands given at the programming stage of the micro controller (PIC16F877A) on board, when I started attaching the ESCs I got to know there's a step called calibrating an ESC for the first time, I'm using HK 25-30A SS series ESC (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6460), Can anyone point me in the right direction, how I can calibrate my ESCs and program my quadcopter using PWM, so that I can complete my first level soon.

Calibrating an ESC is setting the min and max PWM values that the ESC will see from a RC system or an flight controller to get the motor power from 0 to 100%. Program you quad using PWM? You lost me there. What do you mean? What type of flight controller doe you have?
