Camera gimballing with an APM 2

I have a roll and tilt camera mount for my quad, using two MKS Micro Size Cyclic Servo DS92A+ fast digital servos. I normally use these on my helicopter cyclic controls, they are normally very smooth and precise.

However when the APM 2 initializes and starts gimballing, the servos are jerky not smooth.

They are powered from one of the ESC's bec circuit and the tilt is user overridden via channel 6 as suggested in the setup wiki. The tilt works nicely when I use the knob on my transmitter to adjust it and is smooth, its just when the APM 2 is controlling things that everything is jerky.

Also, how do I trim the roll servo, as it is slightly out (not level) on start up. Normally I would use the transmitter to adjust the sub trim as I have done with the tilt, but as there is no link between the receiver and the roll channel, I don't have that option.

  • Not sure about the first part of your question but the centering is adjusted by changing the end points in MP Camera Gimbal screen.

increase the low or lower the high to adjust the centre position.
