Can XBee communicate with PC's Wifi adapter?

I wonder if there's some way to make Xbee module to work with Wifi adapter already present in PC (for example in Notebook). Xbee 2.4GHz uses same frequency as Wifi,This could reduce complexity of telemetry if we could omit one XBee module at base station.Thanks

    No, XBee modules use communication protocols which are not compatible with WiFi (802.11A, B, G, or N). You'll need to use a compatible XBee module at the base station, this is pretty easy (and inexpensive) with an XBee adapter board and FTDI cable from:
