Cannot Connect to Arducopter

Hello.  Thanks for dropping by.

Windows 7.

Connection to APM acknowledged on computer and recognised as FT232R USB UART in devices.

Configurator downloaded with upgrade as per http://code.google.com/p/arducopter/wiki/Quad_ConfiguratorTool

I have set the connection time to 30 seconds.

I have checked that the BAUD rates match at 115200.

I click connect.  The orange Rx LED flashes on the APM.  But the connection times out.  I've tried kinderkram's software and the latest APM software also, but nothing connects.

Any ideas?

Nick v1.1 refers to ArduCopter 1.1 eg having magnetometer etc included. Your software might be a bit older revision (week or two old) and it did not have GCS ports activated as default due team was working to release beta software.

You can connect to your ArduCopter with Arduino IDE serial monitor. Or you can use APM Mission planners serial monitor to connect to it.

You also can use your windows hyperterminal to connect on CLI.

  • Oh, it's version 1.1.   Connecting for first time, here.  Software already on APM.
