Cant get Simulation going on X-Plane

Help please, I cant get my simulation going as per the manual

I am running Windows 7 and X-Plane 9.21rc2,  set with all the settings as per the manual (see image) , APM Planner 0.4.19 Build 0.4.4125.34330 and my Ardupilot Mega 1.4 updated to Ardupilot Mega 2.012-Beta MAVLink HIL.

The X-Plane have a different net connections screen as per the manual but I have found that the same settings must be made on INET 3 Tab (see image).

With X-Plane Running I created a flightplan using Planner MAVLink and sucessfully uploaded and verified the flightplan on the APM. When I switch to the Ardupilot SIM MAVLink and connect to the APM I find that the boxes get filled with all the relvant information but the main screen remains on "Opened Com Port" with no other text displayed (see image). When I switch to X-Planes, it does not accept input from my stick movements.

What have I done wrong?

  • Thank you everyone, The problem is solved now. Ensure that the X-Plane port is set to 49005 and the APM port set to 49000.

    Kind Regards

On the APM mission planner, did you click on advanced IP settings to make sure IP and port are same as that on xplane?  But it is strange that you are getting all the data coming in correctly..  Are you sure you have setup everything correctly on APM?  Can you fly on xplane while in manual mode?

  • At 30 USD for the 4 dvd disks. I think its very much worth it!

Do the "ArduPilot Output" numbers change when you move your sticks?
