Changing Yaw while flying between waypoints

I am flying a Hexacopter with a fixed camera and live view on the ground. I would like to be able to "look around" while the Hexa is flying in a straight line from point A to point B without changing the flight direction.

My question: is there a way to manually change the yaw from the Mission Planner while flying in a straight line between waypoints?

  • You can manually adjust the yaw even though you were in Auto mode. I recently added a couple different modes to my transmitter and while flying yesterday I meant to flip the loiter switch, but instead flipped the auto switch (loiter used to be where auto is). The quad immediately started the mission, which from this location was taking it directly into a tree. I immediately pulled back to avoid hitting the tree and realized my mistake and switched back into stabilize mode. So I know for sure you can still manually control the quad even though you're running a mission...

I guess the only question in this case is whether your hex will continue heading to the waypoint or will now travel in the direction of the yaw. If I get a chance I'll give it a try this afternoon...

Have you tried to manual change the yaw while flying between waypoints?
