Compass works but only north is correct

Hi all,

   After running the APM mission planner several times and manually entering declination in the cli, my compass works but only North is correct. As I rotate the quad by hand, East and West are off a bit, South is way off. My declination is 5.53w and I enter it as -5.53 

If I look at show under cli, it shows 5.883

 

Am I doing something wrong?

    the .53 -> .883 is correct: it's just converting minutes to decimal. Not sure about the negative thing, however (where are you based?). Regardless, the code should be retaining the sign of the input...
