Confused with the APM set up- accelerometer

I followed all of the steps for the accelerometer calibration, APM flat, Apm left side, etc and noticed, when its connected through USB the telemetry screen shows that it pointing down 10 degrees. Its also turning to the side a little. I tried the calibration a few more times and had no result. Is this a know glitch or am I doing something wrong? I am a newbie by the way, so I'm still getting aquinated to my quad. I hope to get my maiden flight tommorrow.

Thanks

Bob

    Bob,

So you're using arduplane right?  There's no huge advantage for doing the 6-point accelerometer calibration for planes because that code doesn't make use of the inertial nav stuff yet so you might want to just stick with the level command.

If you're using arducopter 2.9.1 then the HUD should be flat as long as you kept it flat at the first stage of the accel calibration procedure.  Now, there was a small issue with the mission planner (that exposed a small issue in the arducopter software) if you pushed the done button at the end of the procedure.  That bug is fixed in mission planner version 1.2.34.

What version of the mission planner are you using?

  • Which APM? 2.0 or 2.5?

    Which Arducopter? 2.8.1 or 2.9.x?
