I plan on designing an auto pilot system with the Ardupilot, but I am a bit confused as to how to connect the toggle switch to the transmitter and attaching the channel for the switch to the ArduPilot shield.
I would like some help regarding this topic.

Your transmitter's toggle switch is probably channel five. You just connect channel five from the receiver to the mode connector on the ArduPilot board (not the shield)
