Hi guys,
I've almost completed the build of my quad copter - after going through the existing forum topics I still have a couple of questions. Sorry if they are very simple.
1. Connecting the RX and APM to a power source. What is the best way to do this? Also, aside from tape, how are people connecting the RX to the frame? I ended up getting some nylon screws for the APM just for security.
2. Connecting the RX to the APM. I bought the kit from the store and I assumed that all the connections would be included - but I don't seem to have them. Do I just need to purchase them? Ie, http://store.diydrones.com/Servo_Jumper_Female_double_sided_p/pr-0003-03-10cm.htm.
The model of the radio is a Spektrum DX8 and I have the APM 2.5 Board.
Many thanks in advance,
David.

Here's the cable I used, yes it did not come with my 3dr kit either:

Also, I decided to pre-empt any more waiting and bought a few of these:

Dirt cheap and figured with all those jumpers they'll be handy for playing around.
As for mounting the receiver, I've got mine attached via a rubber band and a twisty tie for the time being. I couldn't resist uploading my glue-stick sonar mount as well..
How are you mounting your battery? The velcro doesn't seem to work very well and I've read countless posts saying to NOT rely on it.
Sorry to keep replying to my own posts, but I suspect that I have worked this out through this link - http://code.google.com/p/arducopter/wiki/APM2RC.
But I would appreciate it if someone could please confirm.
I note though "Just connect your RC receiver to the Input side (using the special cables that came with your quadcopter kit, or just any female-to-female cables)."
It appears that I didn't receive these cables with the kit. Should they still be shipping with kits nowadays?
Also, there are two cables (2 wire [red and black]and 4 wire [multi colour]) coming from the PDB. Where should they be attached?
