Cruise mode drift

Hi all

Cruise mode normally works well, but on my last flight, I had a strange drift which I could not correct. See below.

You can clearly see when switching to Cruise mode, the plane turns to the right continuously, I bring it back, then it turns right again. The direction arrow and artificial horizon seems ok, RTL seems better, just Cruise mode that's acting weird.

Any ideas?

  • Hi, the cruise mode works with "dead zones", ie. detection of whether the aileron and rudder sticks are centered. Maybe you have trimmed on your transmitter since last radio calibration?

You should be able to see the values for your channels in Radio Calibration in MP or other ground station tool, and compare those to the TRIM value for each channel. The difference should be no more than the DZ value for the channel. Instead of increasing the DZ value (= awful backlash'ing feeling) do re-set the TRIM value manually or by doing a new radio calibrate, or by understanding and using AUTO_TRIM.

    Regards
