Greetings, newbie here. I am building a Hexa, APM (2.5). Is it possible/preferable to solder the ESC directly to the PDB and not use the Deans at all? Also, direct soldering the cables to the motors without the bullet connectors? What are the pros-cons? Thanks!

Yes you should be able to solder directly to a PDB. Using bullet connectors can make swapping defective ESCs easier, but you risk having a poor connection. If you do decide to use bullets, make sure you get the good ones with gold plating. Many crashes have been caused by bad bullet connectors.
