Hi,

I'd like to be able to detect the location of a quad-copter with a high degree of accuracy and precision. "High" in this context means m-scale, maybe even better if possible. Budget up to 10k if necessary. Is there a technology that can do this? I know DGPS + IMU gives some estimate, but the errors grow from the IMU over time. Is there some radio echo-location technology that might do this well and cheaply? Any other ideas?

Thanks for considering,

   -k.

  • Have you investigated RTK with coors network (in USA) or else RTK with base station? Best resolution (sub inch range)

Some receivers are already on ebay or other classifieds.

    • Just for future reference, the California Real Time Network (CRTN) offers public single-port access to their statewide RTK reference stations for free. You just have to ask for an account from the director =)
