Traditional fixed wing ESC's expect a 50Hz pulse of ~2ms max to ~1ms min. This will work but it is not optimal.
ESC's that are multi-copter friendly will accept the same pulse length (~1-2ms) but at an 400hz rate. This improves their responsiveness to control.
You can set the min and max expected pulse so that all of the speed controls are sure to respond exactly the same. Details can be found in the instructions for your speed control. I set mine to expect a min of 1.1ms and a max of 1.9ms.
I hope this helps.

period time 20ms, high for 0.7-2ms for maximum travel of some servos , most often a narrower range is used, 1.5ms...1.25ms
