did i mess up the soldering on my mega shield ?

Hi,

after soldering i checked the resistance between all neighbouring pins to make sure i did not make a connection between 2 pins whilst soldering.

all are ok, except the 2 pins marked in attached image.

when i check those, my multimeter beeps, which is not a good sign...

my question:

could someone measure his device please and let me know if this normal or did i mess it up?

i cant see that the solder is touching between the pins.

thanks and regards,

wolfgang

Those pins are connected to the DIP switches. They'll give continuity beeps if the switches are down. Try moving the switches up and see if that makes the beep go away.
  • The ohmmeter uses a pretty high voltage for a circuit with very sensitive components which can do more harm then good. Most circuits will transfere current to something, that something varies with what they are processing.

The ohmmeter works great on circuits with known values or nothing attached.

    Hope this helps, Ed
  • Wolfgang,

I do not see a short between those pins. The short could be on either board.
  • Hi everyone,

is there nobody who knows or who could check ?
or is my picture/problem not clear ?

i dont want to proceed until i know if it's ok, afraid of killing something :)

    tks,
    wolfgang
