Just made my first flight with ardupilot. When I switch to auto, the plane turns towards the first waypoint but also dives downward.I first thought I had the altitude set too low, but confirmed it was set at 150 agl. I also tried flying lower and same thing. Where should I start?

have not had a chance to test fly yet, but i found that i did have the rudder and elevator channels switched on the input and output, so the radio controls were still accurate, but auto pilot was not reacting correctly.
will post results after wind calms down and i test fly.
