Transmit data over the audio channel or in the hidden video lines instead of using xbees.I find it a good idea because av transmission is cheap and probably everybody has it onboard.Personally I have a video only transmitter and receiver (even if I had it I would love to keep my mic on the audio channel) so I'm looking for a way to connect laptop and ardupilot using hidden video lines.I don't want an osd neither want to buy xbee...I have the idea that I have all the hardware I need, I just miss some start point to build the code (I'm not an expert in programming, just basic things), ideas?ThanksFLickupdate: I found the link that I saw time ago : http://dzl.dk/projects/electronics/modem/modem.html

Hi FLick,
A complete solution using audio channel has been published in electronic review Elektor, usage is for amateur rocket, but it's exactly your need.
You can by the pdf on their site : http://www.elektor.com/magazines/2007/february/over-air-telemetry-f...
or I can send you the scan if I retrieve this mag ;o)

Over-air telemetry for model rockets
Model construction as a pastime flourishes all over the world, attracting people with an interest in replicating vehicles in miniature. Including rockets — fully functional and complete. And we really like to see all sorts of flight data (telemetry) too. But how do we get hold of this data, when the rocket is soaring off at an altitude of 500 m or more? This circuit shows you how to do this. Telemetry is taking off, literally
