    I'd first recommend that you never shut off your transmitter while your quad is powered on. This will hopefully ensure that your quad doesn't do anything you didn't tell it to do. I'd also run a transmitter calibration. If you are using ArduCopter, may I direct your attention here (http://ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-radio-control-calibration.h...). this walks you through the steps for the calibration. Hope this helps.
