Easy camera roll stabilizer questions

I'll simply ask straightforward. I've seen the "TaigaCam and camera roll stabilizer" video and blog post and now I have some questions regarding this.

One of my hobbies is riding the motorbike and I'd like to use the concept of the gyro stabilized camera here. I dunno if here are ppl watching MotoGP but they have something like this since the last year. To give you an impression of what I'm trying to achieve, have a look at this video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-NR63-wYwg

Basically the camera should stay horizontally centered all the time. As I have no clue about servos or gyros or anything what-so-ever, I would really appreciate help here. Like, what do I need to build a small mount for my camera (GoPro HD) which automatically stabilizes it horizontally.

I really hope you can give me a hand here :) And sorry, I didn't really know where to put this so I just put it in "Videos"

Thanks in advance from germany,

Choque

  • You need

    - Ardupilot and IMU boards, or Ardupilot kit, it includes all necessary (250 USD)

    - Servo from some hobby shop (10 - 30 USD)

    - Arduino IDE for programming (Free), and someone who understands a little bit programming

    - Then you must make the camera stand

Instructions for Ardupilot are in these pages.

Here is one camera stabilizer and there is also link to code
