Hi, i got my ardupilot today. Soldered everything together loaded the code and hooked up a em-406 module i already had. i ran through all the tests on the APM software and everything worked perfectly, even the GPS (i thought i might have trouble with it since it seems its not fully supported). Anyway after tinkering for a while i downloaded qgroundcontrol and edited the APM_Config.h file to be able to use qgroundcontrol. Loaded the code and had mixed results with the software, one odd thing i did notice was that the led on my gps module was really dim now. At first i thought maybe running everything with the qgroundcontrol just from the usb was not providing enough power, but after reading a while it seems like the module entered binary mode after altering the APM_Config.h file. All i did was copy the APM_Config_mavlink_hil.h cotent into the APM_Config.h file. this new config file now has the line :# define GCS_PROTOCOL GCS_PROTOCOL_MAVLINKwhich seems to be the culprit. Ive been reading lots of posts on the subject but cant get a grasp as to what actually happened. Every once in a while the module works again but the light stays dim. I read various posts by "Ken" that seemed helpful but other than waiting a day to a week for the GPS to snap out of binary mode i couldnt find anything else. Any help?Alan
