EM406a - Wrong co-ordinates despite a fix! Help please

HiThis is my first post here and I landed here after searching the internet for my problem, hope to get some expert advise on my problem. So here I go:I bought an EM406A from futurelec in Taiwan. The module is working as expected except the data which it is producing. I got the coordinates and entered them online and they showed a place 30 miles away from where the module is. What could be wrong in this?My connections are as follows: Pin 1 Gnd, pin2 Vcc, Tx to PIC and Rx=Nc, 1PPS=Nc.

  • I believe its in the default mode (whatever it is).I just started using it straight out of the box. I am not very aware of the terms you have mentioned as its my first time with GPS. Could you please help me knowing what kind of co-ordinates it gives in default mode?
  • I am useing mine in binary mode. The data is in degrees and decimal degrees. Not sure what NMEA is ,could be degrees and minuets. Any how that could account for the 30 miles. My Garmen etrex can be set for different data types and the wrong one can through way off. 90deg 50' 26.227" is 90.84063 deg. Other than that it should either work or not work. Sounds like yours is working.
