Hi there,
I've just finished assembling my first Quadcopter and am having a few issues, which I think seems to be engine related.
Basically 2 of my engines seem to have serious trouble spinning, the other 2 work fine and smooth. Spinning them by hand, they are much stiffer to turn and when under power, such as manually calibrating the ESC they make a pretty terrible noise, heat up really quick and start smoking under power. When being controlled by the APM with props on, they kind of just wobble backwards and forwards. The 2 good engines don't heat up at all and are nice and quiet when they spin.
Are the engines stuffed? they are the more powerful motors (AC2836-358, 880Kv) bought from the DIY store. I'm running them with TURNIGY Plush 25amp ESC and Turnigy 5000mAh 3S 30C Lipo Pack with the APM 2.0.
If they are stuffed, were they likely to have come that way? or are there easy ways to burn them out?!
Thanks in advance!
Alex.
Attached a video of them running.

The 880s have a larger shaft and c clip on the bottom of the motor=SO YOU MUST drill the center hole in each arm larger to ensure the c-clip whihc spins with the shaft doesn't contact the frame tube!!!!!!!
I used a stepped dril bit which makes enlarging a hole while keeping it centered (not making it oblong) easy.
You should have caught this the when you were bolting the motors down to ensure they spin free.
