ESCs and Motors warm with addition of 2 axis gimbal?

Hello,

I've been flying my X8 for a while and have now added a gimbal. Having just been flying around for a gimbal test flight, I noticed that my ESCs and motors where warm whereas I have not noticed this before. Is it possible that the addition of my 2 axis brushless gimbal is causing this?

Motors, APM and gimbal control board are powered directly from two 4s batteries.

Added weight can make the motors work harder and cause your ESC to get warm. Warm ESC is not a real problem. Hot ESC would be a problem.
