Hi all,

Just finishing a new X8 quad build running Pixhawk, Copter 3.3.3, T Motor U5s and T Motor Air 40A ESCs. The whole setup has gone without a hitch, everything spot on apart from the fact that the ESCs won't arm and emit an alarm which according to the TM instructions is because the ESCs think that throttle is not at the minimum position (it is obviously).

This video shows what happens: https://youtu.be/6oe1aDtknPw

This shows the calibration being successful and the motors starting after the calibration but as soon as I disconnect the lipo and reconnect it and arm the Pixhawk, the ESCs go into alarm mode.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong.. please?

Thanks,

Peter.

  • Ok, was being stupid, that's the low voltage alarm not the ESCs. I'm using an Attopilot 180 and the calced current and voltages are waaaaay off. I've tried calibrating them but the voltage swings about madly so may be I've reversed the sensor wires from the Attopilot, will try swapping them around.

    • Yup, wires swapped, accurate and steady readings now.

Maiden flight tomorrow, 20kg of thrust and an auw of ~6kg, should be interesting!
