Peter Everett replied to Peter Everett's discussion Proper brown trouser flight, help with log, please...
"There a massive echo in here..

Anyway, this is solved, I believe. The lower front right motor has a bearing rumble so I suspect that lost power/bound up somehow which is why that corner dipped so badly until Pixhawk caught it and corrected it.…"

Dusk flight this evening, all going well until I could see the quad swaying about so started to descend at which point, when I could see her clearer, she then starting pitching about too. Anyway, she landed fine, no damage. In the video, you can see…

Peter Everett replied to Peter Everett's discussion Flight glitch, help with log please..
"Hmm, no sign of feathers, blood or green skin when she landed unless the bird, bat or Martian had a lucky escape.. :o)
Will check the cog, do an autotune and try again this evening, it's set fair here today."

Peter Everett replied to Peter Everett's discussion Flight glitch, help with log please..
"I had a chat with Arris this morning to find out what could have made the gimbal glitch in the way that it did and they suggested I check the Spyder's centre of gravity.. I can see how, if the cog is out, the gimbal's movement could adversely affect…"

I have just changed gimbals on my Spyder X8 from a Marcia Gopro to a much heavier Arris Zhaoyun Pro nex size gimbal to which I've fitted a Samsung NX300 so I've probably added ~1.5kg.I haven't yet done a new autotune but will do soon.On the second…

So I have been flying with a 3DR Pixhawk for 2 years or so now without a single hardware issue but how long can this continue to be considered as reliable?I guess that's an almost impossible question to answer as it will be the subject of many…

Peter Everett replied to Peter Everett's discussion ESCs think throttle not at minimum after ESC calibration.
"Yup, wires swapped, accurate and steady readings now.

Maiden flight tomorrow, 20kg of thrust and an auw of ~6kg, should be interesting!"

Peter Everett replied to Peter Everett's discussion ESCs think throttle not at minimum after ESC calibration.
"Ok, was being stupid, that's the low voltage alarm not the ESCs. I'm using an Attopilot 180 and the calced current and voltages are waaaaay off. I've tried calibrating them but the voltage swings about madly so may be I've reversed the sensor wires…"

Hi all,Just finishing a new X8 quad build running Pixhawk, Copter 3.3.3, T Motor U5s and T Motor Air 40A ESCs. The whole setup has gone without a hitch, everything spot on apart from the fact that the ESCs won't arm and emit an alarm which according…
