ESCs very delicate?

hey folks.

i just got back in the air after a month of waiting for parts and i had a very minor "crash" the quad fell about 10 inches and then rolled. 10 seconds later i have a ESC smoke and die. I know th ESC was not the cause of the "crash" because i was hovering low to the ground and let it drop. this is something i have done before. it was getting close to something and i was worried. this is the second ESC i have had die in a similar fashion.

anyone else have this sort of thing happen and if so perhaps you could tell me if i maybe doing something wrong.

Cheers.

Brian.

  • Marint. I solder everything. by that I mean both ends of the ESC is soldered in place.

U4eake. last night, when the ESC failed, the throttle was down before the quad flipped over. i didn't get a chance to disarm before the ESC smoked.

Do you immediately disarm the motors or do they keep trying to spin while blocked ?

It would help if you would specify which ESCs you're using.
