Failsafe failed on Mission Planner?

Hey all!

For some reason, basically my DJI F550 fell straight from 20m above ground to the ground after the "fail-safe" was initiated.

I was flying my hex using guided mode through Mission Planner and eventually when the drone lost reception with the controller, the fail-safe was induced and instead of continuing with anything or returning to launch the fail-safe actually cut the power to the motors. My controller had been sitting on the ground since before I took off using guided mode. The controller switch was set on Stabilize mode (not sure if this may have had something to with this).

The loss of controller and ground control fail safes were both set to continue with mission, and as far as I know, if there is no mission, it is meant to go into RTL.

If you may have any ideas as to why it did this or would like more information let me know.

Thanks for the help!

Skywalker.

  • Hey mate, sorry for no response, I've been flat out with studies. Not sure what you mean about setting the failsafe on the receiver. I have set the throttle failsafe and mission planner failsafe to continue with mission (which as far as I know is meant to RTL if there is no mission).

Did you set the failsafe in the receiver?
