feytech mapmaker error fy-21aP gcs

hi folks,

i just got a complete kit x4 from feytech, been able to set it up without worries, quite nice stuff.

i have took the cgs option, but, in order to create autpilot flight, you need to create a map.

this is the procedure:

launch google earth (in full screen mode) on your location

then launch mapmaker

clic on ge mapbox information

then you get a window telling you that google earth should be open first, you clic on yes,

and then i get a run time error (using xp or 7), and then it close....

so i can t do autopilot flight

did one of you experienced same error?

this where you can find the files, you don t need to have the material installed

http://shop.fyetech.com/product_info.php?cPath=&products_id=42

Can you pls try it and tell me if you have same issue?

here is a screenshot of the error using 7 with (run as admin) privilege when launched the prog

thxx for your help!

  • White LED i noticed is the battery drain, during hover it flash slow when moving around it blinks faster. I know it was for low battery but I haventy actually riched low batt so far so I wouldnt know

hmmm weird, Red LED is lit even at the start of the video, tho there is 1/6 LED that seems to be dead. It could be because of the crash. Now if you think of green, its actually only half an arm. During the first crash I was in a hurry and soldered blue instead of green arm. I ended up trying to unsolder the green led from broken arm but I ended up killing 3 leds so only half green only.

  • Glad you made the first flight.

yes you can do everything as it was designed for multirotor. However, my test with RTL/CIRCLE has been not so good so I have not pursued waypoints. Also I'm too lazy to go out open areas to test it.

On the v2.0.38 I posted a test flight (at night not the best video but you can identify X4). I have a crash in the afternoon and broke an arm but lucky I already had the spares

    Arducopter Beta 2/0/38

  • Herve, I havent touched my FY91Q. I am enjoying my X4 with ArduCopterMega. I cant comment on that. If not mistaken there are some discussion about those things in the fyetech forum (malaysian rc). Go to fyetech shop website then on the right you will see the link.

  • Not sure what issue is with the ESC... I remember asking on their forum about the ESC calibration and changing of config for the ESC but thats about it. Also I flown those ESC right out of the box. Alexander said they were preconfigure to work with FY91Q/90Q but they seem to work well with ACM. ACM = ArduCopterMega Ardupilot board. :D

For the cam I suggest to fly it first without and make yourself comfortable with the quad. once stable then try to introduce the cam. This way you would know if it becomes unstable you know it could be the camera weight factor. Also make sure your quad's CG  is perfectly centered so that it will not tend to dip on one side

  • My X4 has been great and reliable so far. it goes really well with ACM. Durability i had a hiccup during the testing of code 2.0.35 (at night) after going RTL then switching to stabilize the motor spooled up a bit and X4 hit a tree breaking the blade. It fell 30ft but only broke 1 arm. I replace motor as a precaution but seem to still be fine. Now Im I have flown with v37 and still flies solid.

Protection? The top layer has protected the ACM/receiver quite nice good design in my opinion.

Flying tho it says it can fly with cam, the motor might be overworked. I strapped in a gopro with skeleton casing and its a bit underpowered IMO it will fly but constant input is required and its has to trigger alt_hold. Maybe because its windy

But flying at night great you will enjoy it more. The LED are bright enough maybe not 200ft up but 30ft down its great. The white led underneath indicates battery consumption, it blinks faster when esc drains more and slower when hovering. Not sure if it has low batt alarm but I read somewhere it has.

    Enjoy your X4 :)

  • Have you contacted Alexander? I believe its fyetech@yahoo.com he respond verify fast and great support. They posted the arm replacement and motor mount on the online shop when I needed them.

I have X4 and FY91Q but my X4 is currently running with ACM so I havent played with cgs. Will try when I have a chance but try to contact Alexander
