I'm preparing to make my first flight and want to make sure I go the best way. The plane is built but I'm stuck at the loading the software step. I'm using a skywalker plane and APM and 9ch JRX9503 and 9ch receiver. The video gear is all ready and I don't have any doubts about that other than setting up an OSD. I'm thinking to get the one at the diydrones store. I have xbee900 and gps but no mag or any other sensors.
My doubts are:
1) whether to go mac or pc. Mac would be my preference but does that complicate or create other problems? I use fusion on the mac for my arducopter setup but I would like to eventually go mac native if it's ready.
2) whether to go with the APM 2.0 beta software or 1.02? I'm definitely interested in ground station and mission planner but is 2.0 pretty stable?

I wouldn't go with mac for these reasons.
1.) Mac and open source world don't mix well enough yet I think.
2.) MAC cost more to replace if broken, and it's easy to do at the flying field.
3.) More tinkering room with the PC.
