My name is Dylan and I wanted to make a UAV that I could enter in to my county and state fair for a 4H project. I want it to be able to have autonomous flight and be able to record video and have a live video feed on my laptop or tv. How much would it cost to make one? I'm 16 so I don't have much money. Also what are the supplies I need to get in order to make it?

Building a UAV takes a lot of time and some money. Just a few years ago, a basic system would have cost $15,000 or more, with more than half of that in the autopilot alone. Chris, Jordi, and the rest of the gang here have reduced that by more than an order of magnitude, and opened up the autopilot so we can all learn how they work. Still, when I built my first plane (An EasyStar/Ardupilot configuration, now contributed to ERAU's UAS team), I spent about $1,000 on the R/C set, airplane, and autopilot system. You should probably plan a similar budget. The best place to get an idea of what you need is here on this site; http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/a-newbies-guide-to-uavs
