Flamewheel Pixhawk build Help

Hi, 

This is my first build and I would really appreciate some help. 

I have the following basic parts on order 


DJI E300 F450 Flamewheel Frame Quadcopter ARF Kit

FrSky X8R Receiver
3DR Pixhawk Flight controller
Ublox LEA-6H GPS with compass kit
3DR GPS Mast Mount
XT60 connector

I'm a little unclear about what extra cables I will need to connect the motors to the pixhawk?  I was hoping to find a simple diagram or video of someone else's build but there doesn't seem to be much around. 

I'm also a little unclear about how to connect the X8R into the pixhawk?  

I'm afraid that I'm a total novice at this so any advice would be amazing.

  • I had a setup exactly like this and could not get the needed thrust out of the motors. It always ran about 80% thrust for stabil hover, no matter the battery, no matter the load. Changed the ESC to AFRO 30 AMP and some Turnigy 980kv motors. It is a beast now. Bat outa hell accelleration. Thrust at hover about 45%.

    Ditch the ECS's and motors. You can not calibrate DJI ESC's.

    • Thanks for the link to the wiring diagram. So just to double check am I right to connect the E300 esc directly to the pixhawk?

      Also I'm a little unclear about the battery connection? I assume I connect the connector directly to the f450 board?
