I have been using the Flight Recorder for awhile now. Mostly with the Qgroundcontrol software for Autonomous flights. I have been very happy with it and it is allowing me to do things that could not be done before. I also came across something from a company called Fighting Walrus http://fightingwalrus.com/ I am not sure if they are still moving forward with this but it would allow the AR Drone to venture much further and still have active Video?
I've been flying it a bit. It works really well. I've been impressed with the AR Drone 2.0's capabilities with GPS. In generally the AR Drone "works" and even handles wind well.
... on the downside it's not very flexible so I've built a Y6 and ordered an IRIS... addicted to drones? I think so :)
