After one year and a lot of flights without crashing, my Flip FPV suddenly dropped from 30m after motors stopped.
I was flying FPV. I noticed minimosd rebooted and maybe one second after, quad just fell like a rock.
Nothing changed recently except that I unplugged my receiver to reinstall it in a cleaner way and plugged all wires back.
So, the flight was:
- arming
- take-off in stabilize
- loiter at maybe 10-15 meters.
- put fpv goggles on and increased altitude (still in loiter).
- then moved fwd (loiter mode).
- after a short distance and about 30m high... drop.
Log and tLog attached.
Flip FPV in pretty bad shape. Have to change all 3 deck plates and some standoffs.

Same scenario as mine: everything was fine before as shown in the log, flying close to the weather radar s-band, sudden reboot and crash. If I set aside the damaged parts by the crash, everything works fine, no loose connection found.
Weather radar maybe the enemy!
Checked the log again and power parameters just stopped suddenly in flight. Let say it was a power loss, I still don't know how this could have happened.
The power module is a brand new 3DR with excellent voltage signal and I checked connections, everything seem ok.
The only things powered by the APM are the telemetry module and the gps/compass module.
The minimosd rebooted just before the crash (consequence of an APM reboot???).
The receiver is a FrSky V8FRII and this is the only thing I disconnected/reconnected before this flight. It worked fine for many flights before. It is powered on its own by an ESC, no power line to or from the APM. So I don't see why the recent work on it could make a reboot of the APM and /or loss of power.
This day I was flying with 2 other people, but this is not the first time. However we were in fields near a weather station with a Doppler radar and probably other communication systems hidden inside. I would have understood strange behavior in case of interferences but a sudden power cut?!?

that little thiny wires connections that plug the PM to the board sometimes fails, check them or try to change if you don't discover another thing.
I just changed the PM recently because of low Vcc with my previous chinese clone PM. The 3DR provides a clean signal. However I will investigate on this.
I can't give you a why, but the log looks corrupted as just before the end, the time stamps go backward in time by a couple of minutes (~2m 23s). This might be an artifact of sudden power failure (say short or power disconnect, which wouldn't have been logged), but I really don't know. Up to that point it looks good to me.
Thanks for your inputs. I looked into the logs again and cannot see where the issue came from. I plugged the battery back, played with electrical connections, armed and everything seems ok. However it is still covered with mud so I did not run motors.
I also recently changed the power module from a chinese clone to a real 3DR and it solved low Vcc issues.
I have no choice but to rebuild it since all plates are cracked in several places.
