Hello,

I have the APM 2.6 in a quad and would like to expand it to have telemetry, FPV, OSD & HD Recording capability. Here is what I would like to do.

1. I would like to use the Missions Planner to track flight progress.

2. I would also like to enable FPV

3. I would like to have the OSD overlayed on the FPV Display

4. Would also optionally like to have the ability to use the Andriod Ground station apps instead of a laptop.

5. I would like to have a HD recording cam

How would I get all this working together? I do not have any experience with FPV at all. I have found instructions on getting these individual components connected but cannot find a wiki for connecting all this together. Is there any wiring diagram available / instruction wiki to address this setup requirement. What components would I need for this?

1. My RC setup is Futaba 2.5

2. I plan to use 433Mhz for the Telemetry Link & 900Mhz for the video link. Will this work?

Thanks in Advance

  • Hi Arshish,

I'm no expert but here are my 2 cents:

    1- Yes you can

    2- see below

3- minimOSD seems a good option (see below for wiring diagram)

4- Haven't tried but should be no problem (3DR radio telemetry receiver comes with the cable to connect to an android device)

5- I guess you can use a GoPro, Mobius or any other action cam. Better not use the FPV Cam. Resolution may not be HD and you'll probably want to mount your HD Cam on a Gimbal for stabilization. FPV piloting through a stabilized camera can be disorienting. But that's just me.

Maybe this diagram posted by robincfey here will help you. It really helped me.

Not sure about 900 MHz video frequency. Never seen that (although it may exist).

Usually people choose 5.8 GHz or 1.2 GHz (which I use).

    Hope that helps!
