I recently switched from my trustworthy old DX7 with AR7000 RX to the new Futaba 14SG FASSTest system with telemetry and R7008SB RX. I installed the new Futaba RX and calibrated everything in mission planner. Now my quad has a random twich where on of the mortors suddenly increases in speed just enough to cause a significant jerk, it happens about every 5-10 seconds and increases with flight time. I'm afraid to fly more than a few feet off the gound. I assume it has something to do with the PWM or PPM from the futaba and some sort of conflict with the APM 2.5? I have switched back to the DX7, anyone having the same issue? any known fixes?

Tristan, what are you using for your second rx? I will be doing this as well for my 3axis gimbal.
Hi,
I have a 14SG with R7008SB and APM 2.5 (bought a month ago) and I have no problem so far :)
Maybe the PPM is already up to date ?

Problem solved! After following these instructions http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-mega/wiki/APM2Encoder I'm able to use Futaba FASSTest telemetry R7008SB receiver without any twitching.

Basically you need to update your PPM encoder on the APM board.
Quite a long thread, but hopefully it'll give you some background to the issue with Futaba radios and how to perform the update.
