Hi, I'm still relatively new to Ardupilot, but I wanted to ask about this so I can make plans for the summer.
If you haven't seen it, the Quadshot is a quadrotor fixed wing aircraft which can take off in helicopter mode, but fly like an airplane. It should be coming out this summer.
They are designing it for Paparazzi, but I would much rather use Ardupilot. How hard do you think it would be to fly such an aircraft with Ardupilot? I need it to be able to fly waypoints and stabilize a camera. I know how to do this for a multicopter, but for this airframe?
Ideally I would love if there was a firmware made for flying Quadshot with Ardupilot, but I don't know how possible that is. Thanks!

There is too much emphasis on hardware. It is the software that is more important. In open source projects, people tend to focus on hardware as the software is provided without cost. I find it better to just get the hardware that matches the software.
That being said, there are tiltrotor quadrotor craft flying with arducopter hardware.
Following, as I'm curious about this too. The Quadshot was a Kickstarter last fall. Looks like an interesting airframe.
