Glasses for the Flyer's Point of View

I found this link in the Geeks Are Sexy newsletter, about some display goggles for 3D/2D movie viewers:  Vuzix 1200 Display

Given that they are 3D-capable as well as 2D, might this make 3D visual piloting a useful feature?

I'm very new to this field and site, so I don't know if $499 is considered a reasonable price for such devices, nor how desireable adding depth of field to an FPV system would be.

I have a pair of Headplays, they care very comfortable, I use them to play Flight Simulator with TrackIR (head tracker).  Feels almost as real as flying.

    Pros: 800 x 600 native resolution, supports 1024 x 768, VGA + Composite input

Con: Bulky battery box for videos cables to connect to.
